Gonna try to get ready for the GRE for my Masters Course which will also include doing the math from my CIE Electronics Course.

Bought Radio Shack's - Science Fair Advanced Electronics Lab with 300 Projects. It costs $80.00 here in Asuncion Paraguay. I will put a picture of the Lab in as soon as I get the opportunity to scan a picture of it.

I did Project 1 last night and it worked very well. My first experience with Electronics was a great one.

Project 1 - Light Controlled Bird

This is supposed to be a bird that sings or chirps and the sound changes with increased or decreased light. The sound it gave was more like an electronic chirp, but it worked very well and the Cds cell (Cadmium Sulfide Cell) added and decreased the resistance depending on the amount of light I let shine on it. Great for a first project and the instructions in the book are easy to follow.


Project 2 - A Transistor Radio

After I corrected my errors, ( I put the transistors in the wrong places), it worked well and I could hear 3 local stations by turning the Tuning knob. Once again the instructions are easy to follow and clear.

Project 3 - Sound Scouper

Let?ou listen through the earphone to sounds you make through the speaker. Interesting. Took me two days to get this one working. Once again I had made mistakes and had to go over each component and wire to check where the mistakes were. It worked fine once I had it right.

Project 4 - American Patrol Car Siren

Fun project and guess what??, took me two days to figure out all my mistakes and correct them. Ha ha ha !!! Anyway I eventually got it right and wheewhaawheewhaa etc etc..
Nice Project. I must say that it is nice not being able to electrocute myself, blow up resistors and cause any real damage. This kit works on 9 volts so it is really safe and fun to use.


Project 5 - Digital Roulette

Today is 21 September 2000 and I am writing all of this down for my Basic Electronics web page.
Took me two days to redo the wiring and eventually it worked J. It lights up and rolls the numbers on the 7 segment Digital LED display and when you press a button the it stops on one number.
What some people will do for fun??? I did enjoy the result at the end.

Project 6 - IC Organ

From this project on there are no more written instructions and the book only shows the schematic diagram and the wiring diagram. I will start this as soon as I get the time.

Started project 6 on the weekend. Don't have much time so I will probably do a little now and then. Nov 22, 2000 Finished this project last week and it works real well.
I will continue in Taiwan!

Hehe 2 years later. I am still here in Taiwan and will continue updating now that I got a good Internet service.

Got the Gigo Electric Magic set. It's quite nice specially to learn circuits.  I will continue the projects soon as I get some time :-)
